An American woman living in the UK has revealed the classic British sweets she cannot stand – much to the consternation of her followers online.

Lisa Dollan is originally from Georgia in the United States but moved to Yorkshire after falling in love with her now-husband Paul after they met at a business conference in 2009.

Taking to TikTok, where she has amassed over 1.2million followers under her handle Yorkshire Peach, Lisa shared common British confectionary items that she disliked.

Since she posted the clip in May, it has been viewed over one million times on the platform.

Despite proving to be a popular hit with viewers, there was an extremely mixed reaction in the comments as Lisa revealed which sweets she would not eat again.

First up, she said that she would not be rushing to eat a Kinder Bueno in the future – or any other Kinder-made chocolate for that matter.

Upon trying the popular nutty chocolate bar, she remarked: ‘Is this even British? I’d never heard of it before I moved here. People seem to be nuts about it. I don’t like any of it.’

Next, Lisa expressed a strong distaste for Maynard Bassetts Jelly Babies, noting: ‘You guys are mad about these, I can’t stand them! I love sweets, I love jelly beans, I love chewy sweets but the consistency of these is just wrong. I can’t explain it.’

Third on the list, Lisa revealed that she could not stand the combination of mint and chocolate having tried an After Eight.

She said: ‘Mint and chocolate. No, again, they don’t belong. They don’t belong in ice cream together, it’s like toothpaste in a chocolate bar. You just wouldn’t?’

Lastly the American shared that should could not cope with a national favourite that is extremely popular to eat at Christmas.

Lisa said that she would not be sad to miss out on eating a Terry’s Chocolate Orange during the festive period.

She stated: ‘When I tell you orange and chocolate should never be in the same room together. I said what I said. I even retried it a few months ago to see if my palette had converted, because I identify as British now, but no.’

Her list drew a mixed reaction in the comments section, with some users expressing their support for her choices while others were in disbelief.
