Inside deserted Victorian manor with marriage ceremony snaps on wall and on line casino in cellar

An eerie manor house in Liverpool was once the heart of joyous celebrations but now stands as a haunting relic of the past.

Urban explorer Nicholas Bignell captured the haunting scenes of the Grade II-listed building on his YouTube channel UK Urbex in 2022, but chose to keep its location under wraps to prevent vandalism.

The Victorian gem was erected between 1850 and 1870, later morphing into a nightclub in the swinging ’70s, complete with a casino in the cellar. Over the years, it’s been passed from one owner to another, serving as a pub and venue for weddings and birthdays until it shut down in 2014.

Speaking to the ECHO, Nicholas said: “There’s photos all down the corridor of people’s weddings, and birthdays, and different celebrations.

“It’s nice to see it and it’s so strange because you wonder who these people are and it’s just sad to see it in that state.”

Although there’s graffiti, many of the original features remain

He called the venue a “time capsule”, as no efforts have been made to clear the premises out.

He said: “The bar is still there, there’s bottles of champagne behind the bar, it’s a bit of a time capsule. But then you go to the stable area and that’s been vandalised. It’s got an eerie feeling to it.”

Wedding snaps still hang on the wall

Despite the beauty of the original features that survive, parts of the manor have suffered at the hands of vandals.

Trespassing on private property is dangerous and can be illegal.

In a more recent find, urban explorer Tokyo Matilda discovered large abandoned country home just out of Manchester, which also was a relic of the past.

Despite only been abandoned in 2023, the home looked as if it has been empty for much longer than that.

It was filled with piles of creepy dolls including a Children in Need Pudsey who looks in dire need itself, and a tatty Beaker cuddy toy from The Muppet Show that appears trauamatised by the urban explorer entering it’s home.

Speaking on a recent video, Matilda said she was “flabbergasted” by the discovery as she surveyed mould and flies cluttering up the home.
