Speedo-sporting sun-seekers will assist swig eight million pints on ‘Mega Monday’
Speedo-sporting sun-seekers will help swig eight million pints over a 24C ‘Mega Monday’ Bank Holiday.
Summer will make a comeback from Monday as Southern England is set to hit 24C on Tuesday, with winds calming down and drier conditions expected.
The mercury will then soar to 27C on Wednesday in London – with surrounding areas expected to top 26C. And there is a sizzling 32C heatwave high on the horizon.

As this year’s topsy-turvy weather rolls on, experts say millions of Brits will mob beaches and provide a much-needed boost to the nation’s beer gardens.
The budgie-smuggler bonanza will see around 75,000 day-trippers are swarm Brighton, with another 50,000 in Bournemouth and 40,000 in Great Yarmouth.
At least one million revellers will also soak up rays at London’s Notting Hill Carnival.
RAC spokesman Simon Williams said: “After years of August Bank Holiday washouts, the sun coming out after a wet weekend means there will be a big rush to the coast on Monday.”
Netweather forecaster Nick Finnis added: “After a grotty start to the weekend, Monday looks warmer and brighter. And the high 20s are possible in midweek.”
This week’s heat will be thanks to a 400-mile “subtropical surge” from the mid-Atlantic.
Remnants of Storm Lilian will carry into some of Monday, but once scattered rain clears the south of England is set to bask in 24C heat.
The North is expected to get a mix of 21C sunny spells and showers. But the heat will climb towards 29C on Wednesday to finish summer on a high.
Weather maps issued by WXCharts also predict a 32C scorcher is set to blaze over Britain from the end of week for up to seven days – with the heat set to scorch almost all of England and Wales.
The company said the sweltering conditions will peak in the southeast, including London and Canterbury, with thermometers hitting highs close to Spain and Greece.
The Midlands, along with Manchester and Liverpool, are set to be hit with highs of 30-31C. A Met Office forecaster said: “Monday will be warmer, with sunny spells, and it will be very warm in the southeast in midweek.”
And Met Office meteorologist Annie Shuttleworth added: “Next week is looking much drier and more settled than this week. From Tuesday, low pressure is centred up to the north and west of the UK.
“But high pressure from Scandinavia will pick up warmer air for the week – bringing more settled weather to eastern and southern areas of the UK – lasting into the first week of September most likely.
“So any weather fronts coming to the north west will bump into this high pressure and stop where they are. By the time we get to Friday, we will see high pressure likely dominating a bit more widely across the UK.
“So that leads us into the very end of summer which means we could start to see some warmer air moving up from the south and east. That does mean it looks quite a lot warmer this week so there’s improvements to come before summer is out.”
