Teacher banned for all times after videoing himself having intercourse with pupil

A teacher at a £35,000-per-year boarding school has been banned from the classroom for life after he videoed himself having sex with a teenage pupil.

Luke Roberts, 44, taught at the independent International School of Creative Arts in Wexham, Bucks.

He was jailed for ten months after admitting two charges of engaging in sexual activity with a female pupil aged 13 to 17.

Roberts, who is now a registered sex offender, joined the prestigious school in 2017 initially as a Boarding Supervisor and later as a teacher.

A Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) misconduct panel heard that police were called into the the A level school for 16-20 year old after rumours began  to swirl about Roberts having an inappropriate relationship with a teenage girl.

Two videos were found on his devices by police which showed him engaging in sexually explicit behaviour, including sex with the pupil.

He was then arrested on the same day by Thames Valley Police.

Roberts, who was not present at the hearing, was said to be remorseful and pleaded guilty at court.

Decision maker David Oatley said Roberts has now been banned for life from teaching for the serious sexual misconduct.

The panel found that Roberts had broken the public trust in the profession teachers are expected to uphold.

As well as failing to observe proper boundaries appropriate to a teacher’s relationship with a pupil and for not having regard the need to safeguard the pupil’s well-being.
