WWE icon Sid Vicious dies as followers pay tribute to ‘Sycho’ legend

Wrestling legend ‘Sycho’ Sid Eudy has died, aged 63.

Known in WWE as Sid, Sid Justice and Sycho Sid, the two-time WWF champion has been confirmed to have died earlier today after a battle with cancer.

His son Gunnar Eudy took to Facebook earlier today to share the news. He said: “In Memory of My Father, Sid Eudy. Dear friends and family,

“I am deeply saddened to share that my father, Sid Eudy, has passed away after battling cancer for several years. He was a man of strength, kindness, and love, and his presence will be greatly missed.

“We appreciate your thoughts and prayers as we grieve this loss. Details for a memorial service will be shared soon.Thank you for your support. Sincerely, Gunnar Eudy.”

Known for his imposing six-foot-nine size, Sid was one of the biggest stars of the 1990s, taking on the likes of Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart and Hulk Hogan, before having a stellar run in World Championship Wrestling as well.

During his time there, he was WCW World Heavyweight Champion on two occasions, as well as winning the WCW United States Heaveyweight Championship once.

He was also ranked number 16 on Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s Top 500 wrestlers in 1991.

Fans took to social media to pay tribute to him, with many saying they were “gutted” and that he was “an absolute legend”.
