Osimhen’s irate agent sends switch message amid Arsenal and Chelsea curiosity
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen will only consider a move to Europe this summer.
The Nigerian striker has been linked with a move away from Napoli this summer, with Chelsea and Arsenal potential landing spots for Osimhen. Having fired Napoli to a title back during the 2022/23 season, Osimhen now looks set to leave the Serie A side before the transfer window slams shut.
He has not been included in any of their match day squads so far under new boss Antonio Conte, who is keen for Osimhen to leave, allowing Napoli to replace him with Romelu Lukaku. But, over the weekend, it emerged Napoli were considering selling their star striker to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli, reports the Mirror.

However, that move now looks off after Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, ruled out a move to the middle east. He said: “Osimhen is a Napoli player, with a contract recently renewed with mutual satisfaction. He made history and when there were major offers we always accepted the club’s decisions.
“As I said, it is not a package to be shipped far away to make room for new prophets. Victor was elected African footballer of the year, eighth at the Ballon d’Or, he still has so much to do in Europe. There is need respect and balance.”

Conte has reportedly been growing frustrated over Napoli’s inability to shift Osimhen on, which would bring in the funds the Serie A side need to strengthen their squad. Prior to Napoli’s clash against Bologna last weekend, the former Chelsea boss refused to answer questions on Osimhen.
“Let’s get the conference straight to the point,” Conte said. “Last week we had a conference where we only talked about the transfer market. I received zero questions about Verona, or maybe one, we didn’t talk about football, and what happened happened.
“You have to ask the club about the transfer market, but I see that you are quite informed because I also read through you. You have to know the situation through them. I want to talk about Bologna, as you know, it’s a match… you know what they did last year.”
“Let’s focus everything on the match, it’s more important to me! Regardless of what happens on the market, I have made a moral and human commitment, not only with the Neapolitans, but I have also made a human commitment towards the players on whom I want to rebuild this project.”
It has been a mixed start for Napoli under Conte so far. They lost their season opener to Hellas Verona in embarrassing fashion 3-0, but then bounced back against Bologna with a 3-0 win of their own.
