Where Sven’s closing England staff at the moment are – from sacked BBC star to City back-up

The football world is in mourning following the passing of former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson.

On Monday it was announced the 76-year-old had passed away after having battled terminal pancreatic cancer. Tributes from across the globe have been paid to the Swede, who managed England from 2001 to 2006.

And during that time, he guided England to three quarter-final appearances at major international tournaments. At the 2002 World Cup, England fell 2-1 to Brazil, who would go on to win the tournament. Two years later, they suffered an agonising penalty shoot-out defeat to Portugal at Euro 2004.

And then shockingly two years after that at the 2006 World Cup, they were once again sent home by Portugal, who defeated England on penalties.
