One participant every of the highest six may signal earlier than Friday – together with Sterling
We are just two days away from the transfer window slamming shut.
And some clubs might start to lean towards the panic button as the hours tick down to Transfer Deadline Day. However, there is still plenty of time for deals to be done, and Daily Star Sport has a look at one player each of the top six could sign.
From back-up strikers to potential game-changers, there’s no shortage of potential deals to be done. And so without any further adu, here are six players who could be on the move before Friday evening.
Arsenal – Ivan Toney
Arsenal have landed two huge targets already this window: Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino. However, they are still missing strength in depth up front.
Mikel Arteta needs to strengthen his forward line if he wants to challenge Manchester City for the title – after falling short for the past two seasons. Ivan Toney is a potential option, with the English star linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
However, Toney won’t come cheap, and they will have to battle Chelsea for his signature. The Blues emerged as a shock destination for Toney on Tuesday, amid reports Enzo Maresca is losing faith in Nicolas Jackson.

Speaking of Chelsea, Jadon Sancho could be the latest in a long line of signings at Stamford Bridge. The wantaway Manchester United star is looking for pastures new, and Maresca could secure his services as part of a Raheem Sterling swap deal (more on that later).
However, the Blues also remain interested in Toney and Napoli hitman Victor Osimhen.
Chelsea will need to sell before the end of the window to trim their squad. And it’s believed Kepa Arrizabalaga, Djordje Petrovic, Trevoh Chalobah, Carney Chukwuemeka, Armando Broja, Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell and Romelu Lukaku are all on the chopping block.
Liverpool – Anthony Gordon
Arne Slot finally landed his first signing as Liverpool boss, in the form of Georgian shot-stopper Giorgi Mamardashvili – but he won’t arrive on Merseyside until next summer.
One name that has been linked with the Reds throughout the summer is Anthony Gordon.
Gordan, who grew up a Liverpool fan, was said to be keen on the move, but the Reds are also looking at Federico Chiesa. However, the Juventus winger is waiting to see if Barcelona follow through with their interest before focusing on other opportunities.
Manchester City – Orri Oskarsson
It’s been a strange old summer for Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola’s side bringing in Savinho and Ilkay Gundogan (after one season in the wilderness with Barcelona).
City had been considering signing another forward after selling Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid, with Celtic’s Kyogo Furuhashi and Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze among the names looked at.
However, sensational reports had them moving for 19-year-old Icelandic international Orri Oskarsson – who is set to leave Copenhagen before the end of the window.
Manchester United – Raheem Sterling
Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and then Manchester United – it would make quite the CV.
Raheem Sterling has made it no secret that he grew up a Red Devils fan, and he would likely welcome a move to Erik ten Hag’s side. Sterling is currently part of the Chelsea ‘bomb squad’ who they are looking to move on before the end of the window.
United also look set to welcome PSG’s Manuel Ugarte after Scott McTominay was shipped off to Napoli.
Tottenham Hotspur – Jacob Ramsey
Tottenham Hotspur will likely have to sell before they want to buy.
However, Ange Postecoglu’s side remain admirers of Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey. Spurs could offer Giovani Lo Celso as part of the deal if they want to entice him to North London.
Spurs are also looking to move on Sergio Reguilon.
