Reddit unusable as mass outrage leaves total web site inaccessible
Internet forum Reddit has gone down, leading millions of users unable to access it.
According to Down Dectector, a mass outage started at around 9pm UK time tonight. More than 30,000 reports were made on the site, with every community on Reddit unusable, with the site claiming that they “can not be found”.
Reddit’s official “status” website claims that they are aware of an issue and that it is “currently being investigated”, but no word on what it is has been given.

It clarified that the following Reddit parts are impacted: Desktop Web, Mobile Web, Native Mobile Apps, Vote Processing, Comment Processing, Spam Processing and Modmail.
All parts of the site claim that there has been a “server error” and to “try again later,” with a message also stating: “We were unable to load the content for this page.”
Thousands took to social media rival Twitter/X to complain, with one posting that “frankly, this is not acceptable,” while another wrote: “im never on reddit but i was looking up a guide for something and i thought i got banned.”
Many users claimed that they had tried logging on via various accounts thinking that they “had been banned” on their original ones, while others joked that everyone was now using Twitter/X for the first time in years.
The issue is the third this month, with Reddit already admitting to issues on August 6 and 13, while July saw two further issues reported.
