Woman presents backyard for campers heading to Oasis present – however there’s drawback

A woman who has offered up her garden in Manchester as a place for Oasis fans to camp may have hit a snag.

Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher confirmed they would get back together for the first time in 15 years and perform a series of tour dates across the UK and Ireland, including performances in their hometown of Manchester. But with hotel prices soaring and gig tickets in high demand, many were left wondering where they could stay.

Kind-hearted Twitter/X user Olivia Bridge revealed people could use her garden for free and was serious about letting people in. A now viral thread revealed the conditions for using the garden, and it is not going to be easy to meet Olivia’s requirements.

The thread read: “I live right by Heaton Park. If you’re an Oasis fan and don’t want to fork out £100s for a place to kip, you can camp in my garden. For free. The only condition is that you get a ticket for me too. I’ll pay for it, and I’ll even throw in brews, breakfast and a driveway.

“This is actually a serious offer! I’ve got my parents and pals all at the ready for Saturday 9am, but anything to increase my chances.”

While the offer is genuine, Olivia may find herself hosting more than a few Oasis fans as one user suggested her garden would look more like the festival grounds of Leeds and Reading than a small back garden. Other Twitter/X users claim it is a bad idea for Olivia to openly offer her garden out to fans heading to the gigs.

One wrote: “Anyone that was about for mySpace knows how much of a bad idea it was posting this.” A second wrote: “Big mistake. You have to charge because of the clean up afterwards isn’t going to be worth it.” A third added: “The way people are so comfortable to let anyone in their place of residency, is wild.”

But other users revealed family members had similar ideas and would be “renting out” their parking spot for campers. “My mam and dad said they’re gonna rent out their drive – £30 for the day,” one wrote.

Another added: “I see your back garden and raise you a SPARE ROOM with a DOUBLE BED. Free on street parking. Friendly(ish) resident cat. Happy to let anyone (within reason) stay who gets us a pair of Oasis tickets.”
