Toney snubs Man Utd for Saudi Pro League as Red Devils miss out on Brentford ace

Ivan Toney looks set to be swapping Brentford for a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli.

The England international has just one year left on his deal with the Bees and has not featured for them so far this season. It had been widely though the 28-year-old was a target for the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea this summer.

However, Toney now looks set to be moving to Saudi Arabia to join Al-Ahli for £40m. Sky Sports report Brentford have agreed a deal with the Saudi Pro League side and that Toney is set to have a medical with Al-Ahli.

Had it not been for his lengthy betting ban that saw him miss the majority of the 2023/24 season, Brentford would probably have cashed in on Toney last summer, or earlier this year in January. However, Toney’s future now looks to be in the middle east.

Speaking on Thursday, Brentford boss Thomas Frank said: “Ivan trained the whole week. Trained with a good attitude in every aspect. He could be involved, he could not be involved.

“He could be here after August 30 and he could not be here. Basically, everything is up in the air. I’ve said the whole time that if he’s here I’m very happy, if he’s not here then I’m happy on his behalf. Who knows, let’s see, let’s see what will happen.”
