Cyclist rushed to hospital after being hit by truck exterior Parliament

A woman has been left with ‘potentially life changing injuries’ after she was hit by a lorry while cycling in Parliament Square – moments after the Prime Minister arrived for PMQs.

Emergency services rushed to the square shortly after 11.30am today following the collision at the junction of Bridge Street, leading to Westminster Bridge, and Parliament Street.

Police say the woman has suffered ‘potentially life-changing’ injuries but she is not believed to be in a life-threatening condition.

Shocked eyewitnesses, some of whom had turned up to stage a political rally on the green at Parliament Square, said the collision had happened shortly after Sir Keir Starmer arrived at Parliament for Prime Minister’s Questions.
