Shocked people online wondered why nobody intervened

But others remained dumbfounded why passers-by did not attempt to break the fight up. One person added: “Why did no one step in to help the postie?”

Another person said: “And nobody intervenes, I see. It would have been almost unthinkable back in the 90s to see such scenes unfold without members of the public coming to the rescue.”

One person wrote: “I would have been straight out of my car to help the postie. As would most people I know. What is wrong with people today? I understand cities are dangerous and I live in a country town but still…”

It is not clear what sparked the incident and why the two became involved in the altercation.
