People surprised after ‘unhinged’ Disney-themed home goes available on the market

For the unassuming buyer, a three-bedroom home in Rhyl with a pleasant exterior and affordable £179k price tag might be exactly what they’re looking for.

However, the listing for one family home in the town in North Wales has left some people astounded – as the current owners have decorated their walls with some incredibly bold Disney murals.

The interior of the home could be mistaken for a Disneyland display, with artwork, collectibles and stacks of toys all over the house. 

The property features a princess-pink bedroom, an Aladdin-themed living area and an emerald green space which appears to have been decorated to resemble Maleficent’s lair, but which also contains the Snow White mirror.  

After the listing was posted on both X and Instagram, people were left bewildered by the décor – with some even suggesting it’s ‘unhinged’.  

And it seems Elwy Estates, the agents selling the house, are embracing its extravagant décor. 

The listing, which also appeared on Zoopla, read: ‘We’ve just waved our magic wand and *Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo* we’ve found your happily ever after!’ 

Leaning into the unique decorative choices, estate agents describe the property as a ‘charming three bedroom home where dreams come true,’ calling it the ‘perfect place to be our guest and create lasting memories!’

The Disney devoted property features a number of different cartoons including a living room wall with scenes from Aladdin with murals of Jasmine, Genie, Rajah, and the prince himself.

The princess themed walls are the backdrop to much less extravagant furniture, which includes plain cream leather sofas and wood paneled flooring. 

Walking through the front door, guests are greeted with a shock of candy pink on  where images of Tinkerbell and Magic Kingdom cover the vivid walls.

While the kitchen is comparatively less vibrant that some of the other rooms, the Disney-obsessed owners still managed to keep the theme alive by adorning their kitchen cupboards with ‘hakuna matata’ and ‘just keep swimming’.

Writing about the house’s strange features, estate agents described: ‘The kitchen is ready for any culinary adventure and will make every meal feel like hakuna matata – no worries, just good times!’

A second living room has a much darker and less princess-like theme with Maleficent plastered ominously over a third of the feature wall.

Next to her, a mural of the Magic Mirror from Snow White sits appropriately above the mantelpiece. 

As guests, or expectant buyers, move towards the stairs, they’ll find a bold pink staircase alongside slogans and phrases from the franchise. 

One of the star bedrooms features a bright pink feature wall with confetti-coated doughnuts painted alongside a cartoon trail.

Slipping under the covers in the baby pink fabric upholstery, guests can enjoy snuggling up to blue and purple bedsheets with Lilo and Stitch on the cover. 

One of the other bedrooms is relatively relaxed in comparison, with orange walls and plain, beige bedding. But a closer look reveals dozens of Disney toys stacked up against the wall and a plush Simba toy at the head of the bed.

The third bedroom doesn’t even have room for a bed as its filled to the brim with children’s toys, including dolls, teddies, and a soft toy of Mr Blobby. 

Those who viewed the strange house couldn’t hide their confusion over the eccentric décor.

One joked that it looked ‘like it’s owned by that couple from Come Fly With Me,’ referencing characters from David Walliams and Matt Lucas’s comedy TV show.

Another said: ‘It looks like the inside of the Waltzers’ while another affirming comment wrote: ‘One hell of a choice but love this for them’.

After a property hunter spotted the listing on property site Zoopla and posted it on X, more bewildered viewers expressed their shock at the decor.

One person described it as ‘unhinged’ while another took on Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother’s catchphrase and said: ‘Bibbidy bobbidy nooo!’ 

And no stone has been left unturned in the spacious Disney shrine as even the garden comes complete with ET, He-Man and Jessica Rabbit. 

The bathroom is by far the least themed room, offering only a bath mat for the Disney shrine.

Packed with surprises, the house also comes with big garage and a summer house, which the current owners are currently using as a gym.

For those whose eyes light up rather than fill with tears at the wondrous house, listers urge potential buyers not to ‘miss out on this practically perfect in every way property’ and to make it ‘part of your world.’ 

The £179,950 house, evidently the work of Disney super fans, located close to amenities and boasts strong transport links, alongside it’s Disney charm.
