National Television Awards 2024 WINNERS: Stacey Solomon wins

Stacey Solomon was the first big winner of the night as the 2024 National Television Awards kicked off at London’s O2 Arena on Wednesday night.

The presenter, 34, was supported by her son Zach, 18, and her sister Jemma as she took to the stage to collect the Factual Entertainment prize for Sort Your Life Out.

Struggling to contain her excitement, Stacey gushed: ‘It’s the hardest show ever to make and they work so, so hard. My amazing co-presenters.

‘I’m so grateful I get to do a show like this, I want to thank the families who let us into their homes. If it wasn’t for the families, who opened their hearts to us, there wouldn’t be no Sort Your Life Out.’

Stacey finished her speech by thanking her husband Joe Swash, and her five children.

Toby Jones was awarded the prize for Serial Drama Performance for his critically-acclaimed performance in Mr Bates Vs The Post Office.

In his speech, the actor offered his congratulations to the real-life Post Office campaigner Sir Alan Bates, after he tied the knot with his longtime partner Susanne on Richard Branson’s private island at the weekend.

He added: ‘This is an extraordinary project, brilliantly commissioned, directed with flare, and the best actors I could possibly hope to work with. I’m really honoured.’

Mr Bates vs The Post Office drew renewed public attention to the subpostmasters who were wrongly prosecuted during the Horizon IT scandal.

The Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Awards was given to I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! for the fifth time, with hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly joined by some of last year’s lineup, including winner Sam Thompson.

Struggling to contain himself, a giddy Sam shouted to pal Pete Wicks: ‘Look I’m on stage!’ before describing his time on the show ‘as the greatest experience of his life.’

BBC megahit The Traitors was awarded the Reality Competition prize, with host Claudia Winkleman joined by winner Harry Clarke on the stage.

With the third series set to hit screens next year, Claudia said: ‘We are nothing without our wonderful cast and we really hope you like the next series!’

Passing the award to runner-up Mollie Pearce, Claudia quipped: ‘This is yours, Harry you already won, thank you!’

Ahead of the ceremony, Holly Willoughby made her red carpet return as she joined This Morning successors Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard.

The presenter left the ITV morning show last October before her replacements Cat and Ben were finally whisked in in March.

Beaming from ear to ear, Holly, 43, wowed in a glitzy strapless silver and black dress featuring a high leg slit.
