Davina McCall broke down in tears as she paid tribute to her boyfriend Michael Douglas at the National Television Awards on Wednesday.
The TV presenter, 56, was honoured with the Special Rcognition award for her contributions to the television industry throughout the course of her career.
The My Mum Your Dad star became overcome with emotion as a montage of people including Dermot O’Leary, Alison Hammond and Claudia Winkleman praising her played on screen.

The star addressed her boyfriend by his full name ‘Michael Douglas’, and then joked ‘the younger one, not the older one,’ in reference to the Hollywood actor of the same name.

She said Michael had made her ‘a better person’ as she looked lovingly at him from the stage.
During her acceptance speech, she said: ‘Thank you so much, this means so much. I can’t even begin to tell you, I don’t even know where to start.’
The TV legend added: ‘I love my job, I feel so priviliged to be able to share it with you. You might like some of it, not all of it. I’ve presented some Turkeys, I know!’
Davina joins an esteemed group of stars who have previously received the Special Recognition Award including Sarah Lancashire, Lenny Henry, Michael Palin, Graham Norton and Billy Connolly.
Davina has been dating celebrity hairdresser Michael, 49, for five years and though the pair are blissfully happy, they have no plans to walk down the aisle together.
In a new interview, the former Big Brother star opened up on the future of their relationship, revealing that they don’t feel the need to make things official as they are both ‘happy’ as they are.
With the pair having both been married before, Davina explained that they didn’t need to ‘rock the boat’ by tying the knot, insisting that for now, marriage is ‘off the table’.
Speaking to The Sun, she responded ‘no’ both times when asked if she was engaged to Michael or planned to marry down the line.
During her acceptance speech, she said: ‘I love my job, I feel so priviliged to be able to share it with you. You might like some of it, not all of it. I’ve presented some Turkeys, I know!’

Giving her reasons for her refusal, she went on: ‘That’s not even on the table, it’s just not. He’s been [married before] so we both just feel like we are happy, let’s not rock the boat. Let’s just keep things on the down-low.
‘We’re not interested. I knew Michael for so many years [before we got together] that there were no questions to ask like that. I know him. It was easy.’
Shutting down any further questions about her love life, Davina concluded by saying: ‘I love Michael. And I always feel like it’s too precious to just talk about in public. I just want to keep it for me.’
Davina and Michael were old friends and first met when he styled her hair during her Big Brother presenting days.
Last January, Davina confirmed that she and Michael moved in together, and the couple had already begun making ‘new traditions.’
The Masked Singer judge revealed that her hairdresser beau moved into her home before Christmas 2022, and they watched The King’s Speech together with Davina’s sister Rebecca.
