Astrid Wett warned of ‘unsafe’ battle by Elle Brooke – ‘It could be suicide’

Elle Brooke has put to bed any thoughts of a heated boxing showdown with fellow influencer Astrid Wett.

The couple of blonde knockouts were initially set to go toe to toe ion the undercard of Simple Simon’s Kingpyn boxing bout with Ed Matthews at the London O2 in July 2022, but Wett withdrew in the build-up to the fight citing fears for her safety. Taking to her YouTube channel, Wett said: “I wanted to prove to everybody that a porn star can do something different. I wanted it to be well respected [and to] change the opinion on girls that are in the same line of work.

“I personally feel that the KingPyn event is not the event for this. Things have changed from what we first thought when we signed six to seven weeks ago.” Elsewhere, she said that Brooke’s assertions that she will “kill” her in the ring made her fear for her “actual safety during the fight”.

Brooke instead fought AJ Bunker on the night, winning by unanimous decision after four hard-fought rounds, and while she has went on to craft a respectable 4-1-1 record over the last two years, besting the likes of Faith Ordway and Aleksandra Daniel – as well as drawing with UFC star Paige VanZant earlier this year to retain her middleweight Misfits title – Wett has also enjoyed three fights and three wins in the squared-circle.

She first faced Keeley Colbran in 2022, before taking on Bunker and Alexia Grace in scraps last year – and while there has been no talks of a fight between herself and old foe Brooke coming to fruition, many fans will hope that the day to settle the bad blood will eventually come.

However, Brooke has now shut down any ideas of a fight between the two influencers-turned-boxers, citing how Misfits boss Mams Taylor would never allow it to happen. Speaking exclusively to Daily Star Sport in the build-up to her Misfits X Series clash with Jenny Savage in Newcastle on Saturday, the 26-year-old said: “Astrid taking the fight with me would be suicide.

“I do not think Mams would allow that fight, I think it’s completely unsafe. Bearing in mind that I fight in 8s (ounce gloves) now, we are just levels apart. She’s been out of the game, she’s not been training. I think that I was better than her anyway but now the levels are just worlds apart. Different postcodes.”

Brooke faces her toughest test to date in BKFC star Savage when the pair meet at Newcastle’s Vertu Motors Arena come September 14, and she understands exactly what she’s up against. Speaking on her opponent, she explained: “To do Bare Knuckle, I think you have to be a certain type of person.

“I know Paige (VanZant) done Bare Knuckle – these guys are incredibly tough. Like they take fists to the face. I spar in 14s (Oz) so that’s a lot of padding. She is going to be extremely tough, I’m not going in there thinking ‘Oh it’s going to be easy, I’m going to batter her in the first couple of rounds’ I’ve come to terms with ‘If it’s a five-round war, then so be it’.

“I’ve beat a professional fighter. From my last fight, I think that I have definitely got it in me because Paige VanZant is extremely tough, so this is just another test.”
