‘Gunshots fired’ in Donald Trump’s neighborhood at golf membership says marketing campaign chief

Gunshots have been fired at a golf club where former President Donald Trump was playing.

The ex-President’s campaign chief reported “gunshots fired” near the former US President at the Trump National Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida where he was enjoying a round of golf.

“President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time,” said Steven Cheung, Trump Campaign Communications Director. The Secret Service is responding to a shooting near to the US presidential candidate, reportedly said law enforcement sources.

Two people exchanged shots outside the course with the shooters believed to be targeting each other, and the gunfire was not targeting Trump, the sources added. It is also understood that Trump was not in danger with the shooting in an area outside the club that is known for high crime, reports the Mirror.

It comes after an assassination attempt on Trump at his election rally in July.

The latest incident follows Trump’s call for unity and resilience after a previous attempt on his life injected fresh uncertainty into an already chaotic presidential campaign. Meanwhile, President Joe Biden urged Americans to “cool it down” in the final stretch and “resolve our differences at the ballot box.”

These statements from the rivals came after an attack that rocked the foundation of the American political system, leading to a brief pause in a heated presidential campaign expected to kick off again amidst the grandeur of the upcoming Republican National Convention.
