‘I fats take a look at rollercoaster rides – theme parks like Universal ought to do higher’
A plus-sized man has documented his journey “fat testing” some of Florida’s most well known rides.
The social media influencer shared his plight on TikTok as he navigated popular Orlando theme parks including Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Disney’s Epcot. Footage shows him trying out the rides’ test seats in the viral video, the first one being the Incredible Hulk rollercoaster at Universal.
He says: “OK I don’t even fit in the seat so this definitely is not going to work. So the first one up, the Hulk fails the fat test.”

He then tries to see if he can fit on the Test Track ride at Disney’s Epcot park.
Stepping into the car, he tells viewers: “So recommendation is pull the seatbelt out as you’re sitting down and place it down behind you so you have more room to do that.”
He adds: “The step into the car is tough but the seatbelts and the seats…have a lot of room so you should be absolutely fine.
“So Test Track passes the fat test.”
Back over to Universal and the unfortunate thrillseeker tries the test seat out for Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, but fails to get the bar to lock into place.
“Yeah unfortunately, I think that’s as far as I’m gonna get it,” he states, adding: “Sadly it looks like Hagrid’s is not gonna work.”
He then tries to “fat test” Harry Potter’s Forbidden Journey. The video shows a ride attendant trying to help him lower the safety bar over his body which also doesn’t reach its lock.
He is told he can’t go on the ride to which he replies: “No problem.”
He later tells viewers: “One of the staff members mentioned that she thinks a lot of these were designed for the UK, so you know, they don’t have as many big folks. Anyway.”
The video cuts to the Ice Breaker ride. After straddling the test seat, he states: “Ah I got one leg in. That is a better sign than the Harry Potter rides..”
After a bit of a struggle, he adds: “You know what, I got seated. That’s a miracle.”
Trying to lock the belt, he’s told there’s no belt extensions to which he states: “I don’t think there’s gonna be a shot here guys. Nope, not gonna work.”
The viral clip captioned “They can do better” was shared on the getlostwebsite attracting 488k likes, 46k shares and 10k comments – some of which weren’t so kind.
One wrote: “Instead of the rides failing the fat test, maybe you failed the healthy test?”
Another added: “They can do better?? If they make seats bigger then NORMAL sized people will fall off. Maybe work on your health.”
But others leapt to his defence.
One said “At no point does this man seem hateful or mad that the rides don’t work for him, he simply made a video letting other big people know that these rides won’t work for them. Why all the hate in the comments? Dude clearly knows he’s fat and isn’t blaming anyone else for it.”
Another wrote: “I am so very sorry for some of the comments here. I know how it feels ‘not to fit.’ If you’re happy with your size, stay the way you are.”
While one added: “These rides actually made me realize I had a problem when I didn’t fit. I lost 150 pounds in a year and when I went back, I had space. Use this experience like I did brother, you can do it.”
