Weather professional claims ‘mid-Atlantic excessive’ will see Brits delight in Indian summer time
A leading weather expert has claimed that the incoming “Indian summer” heatwave heading for Britain could be hotter than expected for one reason.
Despite the country feeling pretty gloomy today thanks to unexpected overnight downpours overnight, an Indian summer-style heatwave is set to be on the way later this week. However, while most are claiming it’ll be around 24c, the boffins at Exacta Weather are hinting that it’ll be even hotter – for one reason.
Exacta’s James Madden has put it all down to a mid-Atlantic high heading our way.

He said, in his latest report on Facebook, while firing his usual shots at rival weather experts: “During last week’s heat surge, temperatures peaked at and hit a very warm 29c in London for the exact date I said temperatures could hit 30c.
The various weather apps on this particular day were forecasting no higher than 24c – a whopping 5c out on the actual day, and we will see something similar to this developing with more extreme temperatures than what is currently being shown from elsewhere.
“This previous heat surge also came about from a mid-Atlantic high and this was a much less extreme area of high pressure in comparison to this incoming one from a much warmer origin.
“Additionally . . .it is more than clear that . . . other forecasters are now in recognition of a major and prolonged period of heat and Indian summer weather – something we told you about for this exact period and not them – and they just need to arrive at more accurate temperatures now.”
This was backed up by another Facebook-based weather entity in UK Weather Forecast. They even went as far as predicting the exact length of time the heatwave will last.
Posting on Facebook, they claim that it will last around seven to 10 days, starting in just a few days time.
A spokesman said: “High pressure builds across the UK over the next few days and the signal becomes stronger throughout next week. This will lead to dry, bright and warmer weather for many of us! Sourcing warmer upper air into the high.
“A slow process throughout the weekend period however, with further wet weather expected in the north and north west as Atlantic fronts attack. For much of England and Wales it will be a drier weekend with temperatures around 18/20c, thanks to a ridge of high pressure.
“Next week, we will see temperatures continue to rise as high pressure moves across the UK and becomes anchored throughout next week. As a result temperatures may push the low to mid twenties from the middle of next week onwards.
