Temps to soar from in the present day as specialists say it can exceed 30 levels by midweek

Despite Brits facing a creeping chill, one forecaster claims temperatures will begin to soar today and even reach 30 degrees by the middle of the week.

For their part, the Met Office says that thick fog across the northwest of England that gathered through the morning will be lifted by lunchtime. The organisation says that there will be plenty of sunshine elsewhere with some cloud towards the northwest of Scotland.

It will be feeling warm in the sun, especially in the south where winds are light. But James Madden of Exacta Weather takes it one step further, saying that it could be decidedly summery.

He has continually mentioned an ‘Indian summer’ in recent weeks. “The well-expected significant high pressure area will now begin to exert itself upon our weather pattern throughout the upcoming week,” he wrote on Facebook last night, September 15.

“This will see temperatures rising to something warmer throughout tomorrow in parts of central and southern England to begin with (around low to mid-20s can be expected in the best of the sunshine).”

He earmarked Tuesday for a considerable change. He wrote: “However, by Tuesday we will begin to see a more widespread influence from this developing situation that will start to send rising temperatures across large parts of the country (this should see large parts of England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales all reaching into the mid-20s or higher in places at the very least in this period).”

The ‘significant area of high pressure’ will continue to expert its influence, meaning scorching temps for later in the week, Madden adds.

He said: “Additionally, these warm to hot daytime temperatures are also highly likely to continue across large parts of the country (UK and Ireland) throughout Wednesday and into Thursday, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see daytime temperatures hitting or exceeding 30°C at the very least in places by this period, particularly in some central and southern areas, but also not restricted to these parts as temperatures continue to rise elsewhere too.”
