Football membership ‘must be relegated instantly’ over half-time grub so ‘dry’

Hibernian have been mocked for their half time food offering with fans slamming prices and demanding ‘immediate relegation’.

For your weekly matchgoer, there’s one thing that’s just about as important as three points on a Saturday, and that’s the scran on offer at the game. Taking a photo of your half time snack and getting fellow supporters to rate it on social media has become a popular trend.

And as a result, clubs have been stepping up their food game. Value for money, looks, and most importantly taste are the main things to look for. Some sides have got it bang on, but others are still failing to tantalise taste buds.

One of those is Scottish side Hibs, who have been blasted for serving up an awful attempt at chicken strips and chips. The meal, which appeared to consist of three strips and 18 chips, was bought by one disgruntled supporter during their 2-0 league win over St Johnstone.

Fans were far from pleased with the £8.50 meal served a their Easter Road stadium going viral on social media, as reported by What’s The Jam. One joked: “[Hibs] should be relegated immediately for this.” Another supporter was quick to say they would rather ‘eat a chair’.

While we don’t eat with our eyes, the presentation of football food is vital given most find out about the grub on offer from social media. Fan Dave chimed in saying: “Looks like it has already been digested at least once.”

Another supporter said: “Hibs taking libs.” And a fifth added: “I didn’t think I could taste dry through a screen until today.”

Just as Hibs thought their fortunes were finally turning around this happens. The Edinburgh-based side picked up their first league victory of the season at the weekend after four games without a win.

They are used to fighting for European places and new manager David Gray has been tasked with getting the club back to their best after they missed out on a top-half finish last season.
