Hilarious second heroic supply van driver braves deep floodwater

This is the hilarious moment a delivery driver braved deep flood water in order to make sure packages arrive on time.

In the footage, shared on social media, the DPD driver can be seen driving through the River Thames during high tide in Richmond, south west London, as bewildered onlookers watch on.

The delivery van ploughs through the waves as he turns a corner past Richmond’s White Cross pub, whose beer garden is famously submerged every time the Thames breaks its banks and staff hand out wellies to keep punters feet dry, and towards dry land.

Comically, a swan paddles into view alongside the van. The bird is likely as equally confused as onlookers to see the delivery driver sailing through the Thames.

Meanwhile, pubgoers at the neighbouring Slug and Lettuce can be seen filming the van as it passes by while they enjoy a drink in the bar’s beer garden while knee deep in water.

The video has garnered a strong reaction online with many social media users praising the driver’s diligence.

One user on Instagram said: ‘I wish the DPD driver was this dedicated in my area.’

Another said: ‘The parcels have to be delivered.’

Instagram user debbinha said: ‘Forget the van. It’s the people at the pub having drinks!’

MailOnline have approached DPD for a comment.
