Bloke’s odd method to attract consideration to crumbling roads and large potholes
One man has taken upon himself to fill as many potholes as he can with flowers in protest at the “unjustifiable” state of the UK’s roads.
Harry Smith-Haggett, from Horsham, UK, had grown tired of seeing so many roads in a state of disrepair. Noticing that councils were not doing enough to correct the issue, the 22-year-old decided to take things into his own hands.
While potholes are usually filled with tarmac, Harry decided to take a more green-fingered approach with his initiative.

Armed with a bucket of soil and a brush, he has spent the past two months planting flowers in around 40 potholes.
While this isn’t a permanent fix to the issue, it has often led to local councils coming out to take action on Harry’s floral instalments.
He explained the reaction his work has received and said: “The public’s reaction has been unbelievable, everyone is rooting for me and also thanking me.
“My success rate is extremely high with the council coming out to fix almost all of the ones I’ve done. The state of the roads in the UK is simply unjustifiable.”
