Daniel Dubois knocks out Anthony Joshua in Wembley combat – ‘Tyson Fury is subsequent’

Daniel Dubois retained the IBF Heavyweight Championship in front of 96,000 fans at Wembley Stadium with a knockout victory against Anthony Joshua

Dubois retained his belt with a dominant performance against the two-time world heavyweight world champion.

The 27-year-old landed a perfect shot to knock Joshua down for the third and final time in the fifth round of the contest, after AJ threatened to recover from two set backs.

The victory sees Dubois improve his record to 22 wins and two losses – coming against Joe Joyce in 2020 and most recently Oleksandr Usyk in April 2023.

The champion took the microphone in the ring after the result and shouted: “Are you not entertained?” to the record crowd.

He added: “I want to go to the top level of this game.” He then continued to thank his family and camp.”

Promoter Frank Warren said: “It takes two people to make a fight; a great champion and AJ….I always felt he would do it.”
