The 53-year-old has been striving to create a sustainable lifestyle at his 189-acre country property in Linton, Cambridgeshire.
He already has a smallholding with an allotment, greenhouses, and farm animals including goats and pigs,
Now he plans to fit 106 solar panels into a machinery barn. This will generate enough electricity to power his entire estate, reports The Sun.
The solar panels will be installed on the south-facing side of the barn and will generate 46.11kWp combined, which is more energy than what his estate needs.
A statement from East Green Energy read: “We have looked to maximise the south-facing aspect of the new shed and working around the skylights set out a design which totals a 46.11kWp system made up of 106 x 435W solar panels.”
An application for the works has been made to the Greater Cambridge Shared Planning Service.
Adrian began to live off the land after getting together with his fiancée Tracey Biles, which he has known since childhood. The couple grown their own food an a kitchen garden, in raised beds under polytunnels and have a large carp pond.
Adrian also has a vineyard attached to his sprawling Cambridgeshire estate. The size of six football pitches, 40,000 square metres, it’s expected the vines will 25,000 bottles of sparkling wine annually, once his vines reach maturity, in two years time.
He tends Meunier grape vines which are used to produce champagne, and produce three tons and acre.
While lucky in some aspects, Adrian is one of the many lotto winners unlucky in love, and split from his wife Gillian just 15 months after their massive win.
