Economics professional, 20, makes use of her sex-work expertise to foretell the following recession
An economics major has used her sex-work experience to predict the US recession.
Amelia Lynne, who calls herself the ‘bimbo in business’, uses her platforms to educate viewers on sex-worker economics. And the 20-year-old recently went viral after posting a TikTok on how sex workers can predict the recession by using ‘The Stripper Index’.
Her theory uses transactions in the adult industry data to indicate where the wider economy is heading. And Amelia believes that if clients are starting to feel the pinch, her industry is one of the first to feel the knock on effect from the tightening of purse strings.

“Sex work is typically something that’s cut out before everything else; people will stop going to the club and spending cash there,” she said.
Amelia added: “Sex work isn’t going to be at the forefront of peoples’ minds if they’re worried about paying for their groceries, their children, or their rent.
“It’s been a really slow month in the US.
“We just had a huge spike of unemployment at the end of July and a lot of girls are saying they’ve not made as much in August.
“Clients who may typically see a sex worker with mid-level rates face-to-face are going to end up going to cheaper people or spending more online where they can get the same satisfaction for a lower price.
“I wouldn’t be paying for a Louis Vuitton bag if I can get a dupe at Target for a fraction of the price. The same will go for clients in the adult industry.”
One viewer said: “Reminds me of the kid in school who wouldn’t sign the papers saying he wouldn’t do drugs. He went on to talk about how drug money was the reason the economy didn’t collapse.”
