Apple customers instructed ‘replace gadgets now’ as iOS18 will get pressing replace after launch

Apple users are being warned to install an urgent update just days after iOS18 was unleashed into the world.

At the same time as the iPhone 16 being announced, Apple also launched its new and improved operating system to all users of the latest models – 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max – as well as older models needing the update, too. The update, labelled iOS 18.0.1, is said to be small one, with the Apple release notes not giving much clue as to what’s in it.

It is only 466.4mb, with Apple originally stating: “This update provides important bug fixes and security updates for iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.”

Apple also released updates on the same date for it’s tvOS, watchOS, visionOS 2, Safari 18, Xcode 16 and iOS and iPadOS 17.7. Updates for macOS Sonoma 14.7 and macOS Ventura 13.7 were also given updates.
