Dog house owners paid £10k after remedy course for anxious pooch went horribly flawed

An unlucky Jack Russell terrier broke it’s leg while on a training course for anxious dogs.

The dog, named Sirius, was sent to the therapy session by his owners in the hopes he would be able to calm down in the home. Things only seemed to get worse after he suffered a serious injury.

The owners, however, received a £10,000 payout for their troubles. Yigit Onkan Sazak was furious after Sirius reportedly fell out of a van while in the pet centre Four Paws Walking and Training, located near Bury in Suffolk.

Four Paws clapped back at the claims, according to the Telegraph. Paul Ives, the founder of the successful business, said it was the dog’s fault.

Paul claimed Sirius was “exhibiting severe aggression and anxiety,” and tried to bite a trainer, who subsequently dropped him. During the fall, Paul said he fell “awkwardly and sustain[ed] an injury”.

Yigit was not impressed and, along with his wife Belma, decided to sue the company. After a trial, they were awarded £10,583 to make up their vet bills and the course fee. Sirius’ treatment came in at a whopping £7,200.

Sirius also suffered mental injuries, claims Yigit, after he revealed Sirius was ordered on “depression medication.” The reason, he claims, was because he was unable to run after the injury, an activity he loved.

The Four Paws website says the company provides “bespoke dog training” and tackles “socialisation struggles, toilet training, aggression and anxious episodes”. Several packages are offered, but owners can buy an “immersive experience,” which includes board and intense training sessions.

District Judge Edwin Omoregie oversaw the processions last week and told Central London County Court his result. “What Mr Sazak said in his claim form is that he sent his dog for some form of training with the defendants and that while the dog was in training he sustained injuries which included a spiral fracture.

“The fracture was quite serious and that necessitated Mr Sazak to have his dog treated for the injuries. As a result of those injuries, he sued the defendants first for the cost of the vet’s bill to treat Sirius, and also for the training fees for the dog.”

Belma also left a scathing online review about his experience using Four Paws. “This entire ordeal has inflicted significant emotional stress and financial hardship on us,” she wrote. “At this point, we are striving to get our lives back on track and offer the best possible support to Sirius. This experience has been a complete nightmare.”
