Porsche left dangling off high-rise automobile park as lady solely saved because of tree

A woman from Florida had a lucky escape after her Porsche ended up hanging from the third floor of a car park.

The woman, who was driving an SUV, accidentally hit the accelerator, causing her vehicle to crash through the concrete barrier and dangle precariously over the edge.

When police arrived on the scene they found the woman half out of the vehicle, which was being held up by a nearby tree. Rescue teams used ropes to bring the woman to safety before she was taken to a local hospital for checks.

The car was later safely removed and structural engineers are set to examine the garage at 1567 San Remo Avenue, according to NBC affiliate WTVJ.

Coral Gables Fire Rescue Division Chief Xavier Jones said: “Pretty sure that she was pretty shaken up, but looking at it from outside, she was fairly calm considering how dramatic this incident was.”

An employee of a nearby doctor’s office, Katiana Polanco, also witnessed the accident. She said: “I basically heard a car peeling out, like they hit the gas by accident or trying to go really fast. I heard a really hard crash, so I thought it was a car crash between two cars.” The Mirror US contacted Coral Gables police department for comment.

It comes after a Florida rescue operation sparked a warning from a top mechanic, advising drivers to steer clear of certain vehicles. Famed mechanic Scotty Kilmer has cautioned those considering an electric vehicle purchase to tread carefully, as many EVs remain “unproven”.

“In the pandemic, the prices of used electric cars were insane,” Kilmer told The Express. “People were selling used Teslas for more than new ones. But that’s not the way it always has been.

“Now prices are all over the place. Generally, the price of vehicles classically is the ones that are good and last a long time like Toyota’s, have high resale value. But the prices of unproven electrical cars, they’re starting to come down. They might go right back to where they were five years ago.”

He added: “You can pay one-third of what you pay for a new one. So just what you need more in electric cars, more uncertainty. Which makes me think most people should be rather uncertain whether they should buy an electric car or not.”

His video received a lot of praise from his fans, with some admitting they had been fooled by the inflated price. Some viewers even declared they would never own an electric vehicle.

One YouTube viewer remarked: “Gee I wonder why? It’s almost like people want a car they can take on long road trips and not have to worry about not only finding a charging station but how long they’re gonna have to wait to even get into that station.”

A second user echoed this sentiment: “And then taking a half hour to an hour just to charge it back up so they can drive another couple hours,” they moaned, before fuming: “I will never own another EV… ever!”
