NFL star’s ugly leg break had American broadcasters refusing to point out replays

American broadcasters refused to show replays after Detroit Lions’ superstar Aidan Hutchinson suffered a horror leg break.

The defensive end made a powerful sack on Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott, but in doing so, his left leg collided with teammate Alim McNeill. The collision left Hutchinson writhing in pain on the ground, ripping off his gloves as he lay flat on his back before being taken away on a stretcher.

FOX initially showed one replay of the incident, but due to its graphic nature, announcer Kevin Burkhardt informed viewers that they would not be showing it again.

Burkhardt described the scene as “Heartbreaking scene here in Arlington and we’re not going to show you the replay because we saw it in the break and, trust me, you don’t want to see it.

“Aidan Hutchinson’s leg went a very funny way and, obviously, there is major concern for him down on the field and if you can read lips, it seems like he’s saying he broke it, and it’s just terrible,” reports the Mirror US.

Players from both teams were visibly shaken as Hutchinson received medical attention, with his teammates praying for their injured leader.

The NFL community has rallied around Hutchinson on social media. The legendary JJ Watt tweeted: “Aidan Hutchinson, no. Damnit man, that is horrific.”

Speedster for the Miami Dolphins Tyreek Hill showed his support with: “Prayers for Hutch,” while former quarterback-turned-analyst Robert Griffin III also chimed in, saying: “Prayers up for Aidan Hutchinson.”

Former Patriots and Colts defensive back Darius Butler, now gracing screens on The Pat McAfee Show, lamented the incident: “Damn! Hate to see Hutch go down like that. Was having a career year.”
