Man Utd hit ‘new low’ as Erik ten Hag emergency plan has followers begging for change

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has come under fire yet again for a plan to use defender Jonny Evans as a makeshift left-back.

United started the season without a recognised defender down the left flank with Diogo Dalot filling in for Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw who have both had a wave of injury problems.

It’s a problem that United needed to address in the transfer window and their failure to do so is now coming back to bite Ten Hag who is under increased pressure anyway.

Failure to win any of their last five in all competitions has left the Dutchman fighting for his job with many fans demanding an immediate change. While it’s looking likely he’ll be given the next few games to prove everyone wrong, relying on a 36-year-old Jonny Evans isn’t going to help his cause.

The Northern Irishman has been great for the Red Devils over the years, but their decision to bring him back to the club last summer proved just how desperate they were and still are.

United’s game against Brentford feels like a must win for Ten Hag

Supporters have had enough and surely there’s only so long the hierarchy at Old Trafford can wait until they are forced to act.

One fan voiced his feelings on X about Evans potentially lining up at left-back against Bretford, saying: “This is genuinely the lowest I’ve ever been as a fan of the club.”

“You can insult Ten Hag as much as you want, but this sums up Manchester United’s decision-making for the past 11 years,” another fan replied to the news about Evans.

They’re both bold statements given the dire situations United have been in under several managers in the past. There’s a recurring theme at the club and the new owners have to tackle the problem fast before another decade goes by.
