Sydney Sweeney has good reply to varsity soccer mascot’s cheeky request
Hollywood megastar Sydney Sweeney had the perfect response to a college football mascot’s cheeky request.
Sydney, 27, has shot to superstardom over the past 12 months thanks to her roles in Euphoria and Anyone But You. And she was part of ESPN’s College GameDay as the Oregon Duck’s clashed with No.3 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes.
However, the Duck’s mascot, The Duck (yes, that’s his name), made it his mission to make the day all about himself. After rolling up in a yellow convertible and shaving a fan’s head, the Duck held up a sign that read: “Sydney Sweeney. Call me back.”

Sydney shared an image from the broadcast on her Instagram story with the cheeky caption: “Sorry. Changed my number haha!”
The American is one of the most in-demand stars in Hollywood at the moment – and while she respectfully gave The Oregon Duck closure, it doesn’t appear that a romantic comedy is on the cards after rejecting the mascot.

The Oregon Duck is one of the most popular mascots in college football, with 138,000 followers on its official X account. It was a strong start to the day for the mascot, who had been tasked with bringing the energy against the Buckeyes.
It was a tense encounter at the Autzen Stadium in the North West – with Oregon emerging as 32-31 winners. However, there was controversy as Oregon fielded 12 players, causing a penalty but crucially burning down the clock.
“We spend an inordinate amount of time on situations,” Oregon coach Dan Lanning told reporters. “There are some situations that don’t show up very often in college football, but this is one that obviously was something we had worked on. So, you can see the result.”
