Moment automobile ploughs into Freshers crowd and drags man beneath as video emerges
Footage has emerged of a car ploughing into a group of men outside The Tunnel Club in Birmingham city centre on October 4.
The newly-released footage shows the nightclub, a staple of the Birmingham nightclub scene, with large crowds gathered outside before the horror crash plays out.
Freshers Week was ruined as the screams of onlookers can be heard throughout the video, as a car is filmed dragging a man down the street before running him over and fleeing the scene. The Daily Star has removed the collision from the footage for sensitivity.

Detective Chief Inspector Dave Sproson, from Birmingham Police, said: “We’re working hard to understand exactly what happened and why. At this stage, we believe this to have been an isolated and deliberate attack linked to an earlier incident inside the nightclub.”
The mobile phone camera footage, obtained by the Birmz Is Grime blog, shows the car dragging one man for several metres before it drives over him with a sickening bump.
Detectives described it as a “deliberate” hit and run crash. On October 5, West Midlands Police arrested a 22-year-old on suspicion of attempted murder.
Five people were taken to the hospital for injuries and two of those remain in hospital, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
In their last statement, West Midlands Police said one of the injured who is still in hospital was also arrested on suspicion of affray.
DCI Sproson said: “The investigation continues to make good progress, but we’d still appeal for anyone with information or mobile phone images to get in touch via our dedicated website.”
