Two masked males ‘with machetes’ go face to face on a London excessive road

Two men have gone head to head in a medieval-style duel with ‘machetes’ on a busy London High Street.

Distressed onlookers can be heard crying ‘don’t do it – please!’ as the masked opponents participate in an East Ham show-down with their long weapons.

When contacted by MailOnline, the Met Police said no arrests had been as the men were not located – meaning they are still on the loose.

The incident took place on Monday October 14 and police were called to the scene at around 1pm.

Footage of the duel has circulated on social media with many observing it looked as though London had ‘returned to medieval times’.

A shocked onlooker on a bus had filmed the armed battle on their mobile phone as the duo both swung huge blades.

One of the weapons was nearly two feet long, the other about one foot.

Thankfully, neither of them landed a blow and the 14-second harrowing video came to an end.

A group of members of the public, some of them children, were seen standing near a NatWest bank as the fight ensued.

One blue Skoda Octavia stopped in front of them on the road.

A white Kia Sportage pulled out of a side road and the driver paused after spotting the armed melee.

One person, Jack Lakeland, commented on X – formerly twitter: ‘Let’s hope it was a draw. With no rematch possible.’

Another person called Tony Macaroni added: ‘I used to go shopping with my dad to East Ham in 1978. If I went now I’ll need an army with me.’

A Met police spokesman said: ‘Police were called at about 1pm on Monday, 14 October to reports of two men fighting with weapons in High Street North, East Ham.
