Liam Payne was engaged on music and was ‘wanting ahead to future’, says pal
Tributes from friends, family and fans have been flooding in for Liam Payne following his death on Wednesday October 16.
Now, a source close to the star has spoken out and suggested the former One Direction singer was planning to fly back to see his girlfriend Kate Cassidy in Miami. Liam fell from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room at the CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Questions still remain about his untimely death. A preliminary autopsy said Liam died from external and internal bleeding. However, a full autopsy will not be completed for a few weeks.

A friend of Liam’s spoke to the Daily Mail and described the singer as excited for his future. The star has left behind his girlfriend, Kate, and his seven-year-old son, Bear Payne.
Liam was reportedly in good spirits for the last few days of his life. “On Tuesday he asked for a McDonald’s. He was happy and in good spirits,” revealed the source. Liam’s girlfriend flew home back to Miami to look after their dog. The plan was he was due to fly out on Friday (October 18) to be reunited with her.
Adding to this, a family friend swung by his hotel around 10am, according to the Daily Mail. They dropped off Liam’s favourite – American-style chocolate chip cookies from a local bakery.
Liam was thought to be rehashing a One Direction song before his death. “He was replicating Fireproof on his computer. He loved recreating instrumentals and that was his favourite One Direction song. He was redoing the beat. He was in a good place, planning for the future, looking forward to going home to Miami to his girlfriend and his dog.”
This was said to be just hours before his tragic fall. Kathy has since released a heart-wrenching statement on her Instagram in memory of her partner of two years. “Thank you for all of the kind words and love that has been sent my way,” it read.
“I have been at a complete loss. Nothing about the past few days have [sic] felt real. I ask and pray that you’ll give me the grace and space to navigate this in private.
“Liam, my angel. You are everything. I want you to know I loved you unconditionally and completely.
“I will continue to love you for the rest of my life. I love you Liam.”
