Britain’s pub hotspots ranked with interactive map – second will shock you
Check out our very own interactive map of Britain’s pub hotspots. Rather predictably the City of London is the most pub-dense area in England and Wales, according to a report by the Office for National Statistics.
It boasts a whopping 594.3 pubs per 100,000 people, while the place in second is rather more surprising. The Isles of Scilly has been found to have 292.2 pubs per 100,000, with the Derbyshire Dales coming in third in the new figures.

The rural district boasts 132 pubs, equating to 184.5 per 100,000 residents. Powys, Pembrokeshire, and Carmarthenshire also have high ratios. When considering geographic size, London councils dominate the top 10 list.
The City of London has 71.7 pubs per square mile, while Westminster has 43.0. Islington, Camden, and Kensington and Chelsea also feature prominently. Outside of London, Portsmouth has the highest pub density with 134 establishments, or 8.6 per square mile.
However, with 8.6 per square mile, Liverpool’s 351 are 8.1 per square mile, and Bristol’s 311 are 7.3 per square mile.
