Man Utd star Andre Onana produces miraculous double save that has Jose Mourinho in awe
Andre Onana had Jose Mourinho lost for words on Thursday evening.
The Special One couldn’t quite believe that his Fenerbahce side hadn’t managed to find the net when Onana pulled off a double save on the stroke of half-time. Youssef En-Nesyri was sure he’d found the net with a bullet header, only for Onana to get down low.
And the Cameroonian wasn’t done there – springing back up to deny the Moroccan for a second time in as many seconds. TNT Sports’ cameras then panned to Mourinho – who was almost laughing in disbelief.
“Andre Onana is world-class. He should have absolutely no doubters,” one fan gleamed. While a second said: “Andre Onana just made one of the best double saves I’ve seen in a very long time, wow. Insane reflexes.”
“That’s the Andre Onana we were told we were signing F*** me that is absolutely top drawer, hats off to the lad, incredible,” a third gushed. And another added: “Never change Mourinho. Never change!”
And Mourinho’s night wasn’t over there – the Special One was soon handed his marching orders in the second half. Mourinho was beyond convinced his side should have been awarded a penalty against his former side.
The Portuguese boss was convinced Manuel Ugarte had fouled Osayi-Samuel – who hit the deck in the penalty area, but referee Clement Turpin waved it away.
Mourinho and his coaching staff were up and into their technical area protesting with the fourth official as VAR confirmed the on-field decision. The Special One was handed a red card, leaving him watching the rest of the clash from the stands.
