The ‘besotted’ feminine police officer who resigned after ‘passionate affair’ with newly married colleague: WPC loved heavy petting with lover in station and patrol automotive whereas on responsibility – and gave him pair of knickers as a memento

This is the female police officer who quit the force after being accused of having a passionate affair with her married colleague and engaging in sexual acts while on duty.

WPC Chloe Caulfield, 25, was so besotted with newly-married PC Tony Eronini that she even took off a pair of her knickers and gave them to him as a memento midway through her shift.

The infatuated pair were caught exchanging steamy text messages and are said to have enjoyed ‘heavy petting’ both at their police station and in a patrol car.

They allegedly used ‘highly suggestive’ code words when texting WPC Caulfield to arrange their seedy workplace encounters.

PC Eronini married his partner in September 2021 in a lavish lakeside ceremony, but by the following Christmas was already involved with WPC Caulfield.

The officer had been married for less than a year to his wife (pictured together) when he embarked on the tawdry affair with the younger officer who worked at his station

They were rumbled when WPC Caulfield’s long-term partner found incriminating texts between the lovers and reported them to police bosses.

An investigation began into the workplace romance began and the pair were both found guilty of gross misconduct and discreditable conduct.

However WPC Caulfield’s father Gareth told MailOnline that his daughter has patched things up with her long-term partner and they now have a baby daughter together.

Mr Caulfield claimed his daughter denied she had an affair with her colleague but did not attend the disciplinary hearing to give her side of the story.

He told Mailonline: ‘I am seriously upset that she did not go to the hearing and give her side of the story. They wanted her to go back to work.

‘I asked my daughter what she had been up to. She told me that there was no affair – just text messages. He pestered her for up to six months.

‘They were sending each other messages. I have not asked her about this thing with the knickers as quite frankly I don’t want to know.’

Speaking from the family’s semi-detached home in Droylsden, Greater Manchester, he added: ‘They certainly didn’t have an affair on police property or police uniform.

‘There is no CCTV in the van or the canteen so there is no proof of it happening.’

Both officers resigned from the force but the disciplinary panel heard that they would both likely to have have been sacked anyway.

The panel of senior officers at Greater Manchester Police said the pair had ‘failed to carry out their duties and obligations to the best of their ability’ due to them ‘engaging in sexualised messaging and interactions whilst on duty.’

They also said the lovers were ‘not ‘diligent in the performance of their duties’ and that the public ‘do not expect police officers to engaged in sexualised messaging or sexual acts whilst on duty.’

PC Eronini’s conduct on duty was said to have been inappropriate in nature, with an investigation concluding that he would he have been sacked had he not resigned

PC Eronini, a father-of-two, originally joined the force back in October 2019 but had already resigned by January of this year, with the former officer posting on his LinkedIn page that he is ‘on the lookout for a new position’.

Neither PC Eronini or WPC Caulfield took part in the disciplinary proceedings, which released a report into their findings detailing the ’emotional and sexual relationship’ which amounted to ‘sexual misconduct whilst on duty’.

The report also found how the sleazy relationship continued over a significant period.

Married and parenting several children, PC Eronini was unable to engage in his infidelity at his home address and instead used the ring doorbell at WPC Caulfield’s home to observe when her partner was gone.

The disgraced pair denied any sexual activity occurred but accepted that the explicit text messages had been exchanged whilst they had been on duty.

PC Eronini also accepted ‘discrediting’ his wife and his job, with WPC Caulfield maintaining that the allegations made had not occurred but ‘apologised sincerely.’

In addition to PC Eronini’s resignation, WPC Caulfield also left the force prior to the conclusion of the investigation.

However, the report did conclude that had both officers still been under the employment of Greater Manchester Police, that they would have been sacked.

Despite the duo’s denials, the panel found that ‘it was more than likely’ that he pair engaged in sexual activity whilst on duty, with their behaviour breaching their duties and responsibilities.

‘The conduct of both officers was intentional and deliberate and was sexually motivated. They would have been well aware that their conduct whilst on duty was unacceptable and their behaviour was inappropriate’, the report read.
