When time stood still at 3.10pm on September 8, 2022, and the Queen was declared gone from this world, Dr Glass penned down nothing but “old age” as the stealer of her breath. In a royal revelation from 1999, it emerged that Dr Glass tended to Princess Margaret after she scalded her feet badly during a bath mishap while holidaying in Mustique. Subsequently recovering for an extensive period at Balmoral, the Princess later returned South.

Expressing their gratitude, her private secretary Lord Ullswater penned on behalf of the Royals: “All of us would wish to thank you and your nurses for your untiring support and attention while she was at Balmoral over the last month or more.”
