Hugh Jackman‘s rumoured new girlfriend Sutton Foster said working alongside the Broadway star was ‘a dream come true’ and that she had the ‘time of her life’ in a resurfaced interview from two years ago.
Two years before sparking romance rumours with the 56-year-old Deadpool & Wolverine star, the 49-year-old triple threat actress raved about having the opportunity to work with Hugh on the Broadway revival of The Music Man.
‘The show is so joyful, and I’m having the time of my life playing opposite this guy,’ Sutton said during a joint appearance with her co-star on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
‘You had to say that, but thank you,’ Hugh teased.
‘I did!’ Sutton then exclaimed, smiling at her co-star.
‘But it’s like — it’s a dream come true. Truly.’
Meanwhile, Hugh called Sutton a ‘dream’ in another resurfaced interview from 2022.
‘It’s been a long time since I’ve done a book musical — actually, 18 years, since The Boy From Oz,’ he told New York Theatre Guide.

‘I’ve been lucky enough to do films, and I’ve done some plays, but there’s nothing like doing a musical on Broadway.’
He went on to specifically applaud ‘this cast in particular’ for their hard work, before sweetly gushing that ‘Sutton Foster is just a dream.’
That same year, Sutton spoke highly of Hugh to Vogue when asked about their professional relationship.
‘He has an impeccable reputation of being the hardest working man, incredibly kind, and generous—and all of that is true,’ she told the magazine.
‘He disarms everyone, and he doesn’t make anything about him.
‘And he’s now become one of my best friends, which was a surprise, because you usually go into these things thinking, “Well, I hope we get along.” But we just spent Memorial Day with our families. It’s really fun to meet new friends after 40.’

Earlier this week, Sutton filed for divorce from her estranged husband Ted Griffin after 10 years of marriage.
Speculation about the couple’s relationship began in Broadway circles while they were co-stars with a number of sources telling Page Six that Sutton and Hugh ‘have fallen in love’.
‘They are 100 per cent together and are in love and want to spend the rest of their lives together,’ an insider previously told the publication.
The pair are reportedly going strong, but have been keeping the relationship out of the public eye, according to sources.

‘They are still together. They go out of their way to hide it, but it’s common knowledge.
Both have strong backgrounds in musical theatre, with Hugh frequently showcasing his singing and dancing skills in various productions, while Sutton is celebrated for her vocal and dance prowess.
Sutton was born in Georgia in 1975 and has a 30-year career in drama, including theatre, film and TV and singing.
The two-time Tony Award winner’s background is similar to Hugh’s, with both starting out in theatre and having an ongoing passion for live performance.
They also both have adopted children, with Sutton and her ex-husband Ted being the proud parents of daughter Emily, seven, while Hugh shares Oscar, 24, and Ava, 19, with his ex-wife Deborra-Lee.
Both involved in various charitable endeavours, using their platforms to support arts education and other causes.
Sutton has performed in some of the world’s most popular theatrical productions, including playing Sandy in Grease, the title character in Thoroughly Modern Millie and Princess Fiona in Shrek: The Musical.
She is also an accomplished TV star, and played the lead role in the popular US drama series Younger across its entire run, from 2015 – 2021.

In 2021 she shared her thoughts about staring a family with her second husband.
The star said she ‘was always on the fence about whether I even wanted to have children,’ in an essay for People.

‘When I met my husband, it was the first time that I finally went, “Oh, I get it. I understand why people have families”,’ she wrote.

Foster added that her daughter was ‘really thriving’ because ‘we’re all together.’

‘We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting, and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth,’ they shared at the time in a joint statement.
