Bizarre new high European stag and hen do vacation spot revealed as Brit vacation favorite

The top new European stag and hen destinations have been revealed – following Prague’s effort to crack down on boozy late-night bar crawls.

Data gathered from stag and hen provers StagWeb.co.uk and GoHen.com has revealed that Prague has fallen off the top spot since 2019, dropping down to the 7th most popular destination for tours they run.

The news comes following the Czechia capital’s efforts to become more refined, instead, “seeking a more cultured, wealthier tourist… not one who comes for a short time only to get drunk”.

But the new must-visit spot of the pre-marital blow-out is one that might surprise many, given its pre-existing reputation as a go-to British summer holiday destination.

The new title goes to Benidorm, pipping the likes of Dublin and Budapest to the top spot.

Benidorm has enjoyed the biggest growth since 2019, with the number of people looking to go to the destination increasing by a whopping 63%, while Dublin grew at the second fastest rate at 35%.

Jon Stainer, Creative Director at StagWeb and GoHen told the Daily Star: “Economically, Spain and Ireland could benefit massively from this decision [from Prague].

“Each year, we send thousands of stags and hens out and the overwhelming majority will be heading out for a good time and not causing any problems.

“Prague are absolutely within their rights to try and curb noise pollution and challenge anti-social behaviour, but it would be a shame to let the one per cent ruin it for everyone.

“There’s a balance to be struck and hopefully this late-night pub crawl ban is where it ends.”

Explaining the drop in Prague’s popularity to the press, Mr Stainer explained: “Post-pandemic, we saw a big drop-off in people heading to Eastern Europe in favour of Spanish and Irish destinations and that will almost certainly increase in 2025 following Prague’s decision to ban organised pub crawls.

“Initially, the war in Ukraine was causing a lot of uncertainty in the region and saw people looking elsewhere but we were expecting travel to return to the region in 2025.

“However, introducing a pub crawl ban is a statement for stags and hens to think twice about heading to Prague and we expect even more to turn to Spain and Ireland next year.

“In 2019, Prague was our most popular destination by far but has since dropped off behind Benidorm, Dublin, Barcelona and more.”
