Christmas ruined as main grocery store remembers mince pies on account of ‘glue contamination’
Tesco has recalled its high-range mince pies because they may contain pieces of dried glue.
The product recall, issued by the supermarket chain, is because they may be “unsafe to eat” to customers.
Tesco have recalled Tesco Finest 6 All Butter Pastry Mince Pies with best before dates October 4, 2024, October 26, 2024, November 2, 2024 and November 10, 2024.
The recall, issued on Thursday, states: “We’re recalling specific date codes of Tesco Finest 6 All Butter Pastry Mince Pies (6-pack), due to the possible presence of small pieces of dry glue from the packaging. No other Tesco products are affected by this issue.”
A Food Standards Agency alert about the product says: “The products may contain small pieces of dry glue from the packaging making them unsafe to eat. Tesco is recalling the above product and has issued a recall notice. This notice explains to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.”
Tesco has also recalled its Perkier Salted Caramel & Dark Chocolate Bars 3x37g as they contain almonds which are not mentioned on the label.
