Met police refuse to arrest protestor carrying signal glorifying lifeless Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar

The Metropolitan Police have refused to arrest a protestor carrying a sign glorifying former terrorist and Hamas leader, Yahya Sinwar.

The female protestor was pulled aside by the entrance to Vauxhall Bridge, after she was spotted carrying a piece of wood with the words ‘Sinwar Stick’ written on one side and ‘Spirit of Resistance’ on the other.

She was one of thousands attending the demo.

The officer claimed that an allegation of inciting hatred had been made by a member of the public against her.

Despite being threatened with arrest, the protestor declined to provide police with her name and address.

However, the testy dispute was brought to an abrupt end after senior officers opted to let the protestor go, despite her insistence on not providing contact details.

During the dispute, a small group of around 7 protestors had gathered to watch. However, they were quickly moved on by police.

Yahya Sinwar is widely considered to be the mastermind of the October 7th terrorist attacks which killed 1,269 Israeli civilians last year.

After taking de-facto leadership of Hamas in August, Sinwar was killed in Gaza by Israeli forces last month.

The Met Police estimate around 10,000 people took part in the march to the American Embassy today.

The incident occurred directly opposite to a group of Pro-Israel counter protesters who had assembled to protest against the march.

Other protestors were pictured carrying signs with red triangles drawn on them, a symbol which many consider to be supportive of Hamas.

As of 14:00, no arrests had been made by the police during the march.

The refusal comes as police investigate after campaigners smashed cabinets and stole the two statues of Israel’s first president, Chaim Weizmann, from the Chemistry Building at the University of Manchester on the same day.
