Tiger Woods again along with ex-wife Elin Nordegren – son Charlie the catalyst

Tiger Woods was seen with his ex-wife Elin Nordegren as they turned up at Miami Shores Country Club to cheer on their son Charlie during a High School golf tournament.

Woods and Nordegren, who are parents to two children Sam and Charlie, split in 2010 after almost six years of wedded life, when they divorced because of his cheating. Despite their separation, the duo continue to co-parent, and were spotted together supporting their youngest child, according to The Palm Beach Post.

Charlie was vying for The Benjamin School in Monday’s Class 1A Region 4 tournament, with hopes of retaining the state title they won in 2023. After winning at district level last month, Woods Jr and his school pals faced tough conditions at Miami Shores, eventually finishing four shots behind Fort Lauderdale Pine Crest.

As per the report, Woods Sr tracked his son’s progress around the course on a cart. Interaction between father and son was limited, with Tiger seeming keen to let his son focus on his performance, reports the Express. The progeny of the 15-time major champion put in a praiseworthy individual performance, ending the tournament tied for sixth, being one of six players to achieve level-par.

Benjamin coach Toby Harbeck discussed Woods Jr’s performance to The Palm Beach Post at regionals, saying: “He’s tough on himself. If he could just relax and play, store some of that energy, it’s good. He’s just young. He’s got a lot of Dad in him.”

Woods Sr has been off the competitive golf radar since his attempt at The Open Championship at Royal Troon in July failed, with the 48 year old icon missing the cut amidst challenging conditions along the Scottish coastline. The outing represented only his fifth tournament of the year as he maintains a reduced playing schedule due to persistent health woes.

Even as he stepped up to play in all four majors this year, Tiger Woods couldn’t quite hit the stride that earned him 15 major titles, finding success to make the cut just once during the Masters in April. The celebrated golfer with 82 PGA Tour wins under his belt also fell short at the PGA Championship, US Open, and The Open.

Beyond the eminent majors, Woods appeared solely at his hosted Genesis Invitational in February. Unfortunately, sickness forced him out halfway through the second round, cutting another appearance short.

Yet, the limited action hasn’t marked the end of Woods’s ventures onto the greens for the year he plans a return to the PGA Tour, doing double duty again as player and host at the Hero World Challenge. The Jupiter local has also signaled his attendance at the PNC Championship, a parent-child tournament.

“I’m not going to play until [The Hero],” declared Woods back at Troon during the summer season. “I’m going to just keep getting physically better and keep working on it. Hopefully just come back for our, our fifth major, the Father-Son [PNC Championship], so looking forward to it.”
