Darts sensation Luke Littler beats previous foe throughout Grand Slam of Darts debut
Luke Littler romped to victory in his Mr Vegas Grand Slam of Darts Debut
Littler, 17, was facing an old foe on Saturday (November 9) evening in the form of Keane Barry. Littler was beaten by Barry in the JDC finals in 2019 – when he was just 12 years old – losing 4-2, but now the teenager has now settled the score.
The 17-yer-old hardly put a foot wrong in Wolverhampton, winning the first three legs with a 14-darter, 12-darter and then an 11-darter. He even nailed six perfect darts in the second leg.
Barry was hardly given a sniff as Littler continued to pile on the pressure – producing one trebleness visit as he whitewashed the Irishman.
The numbers speak for themselves, Littler ended with an average of 112.16 and 56 per cent on doubles. Speaking to Sky Sports after the clash Littler joked “I’ve been practicing” but also confirmed he’s in Wolverhampton “to win”.
“Littler is so good nobody is beating him at the worlds,” one fan confessed. While a second shared: “Ridiculous from Littler!”
“Crikey some of the crowd wouldn’t have had a chance to get another pint and that game was already over, well played Littler,” a third joked. And a fourth posted: “Littler putting up a 113 average whilst also choosing to do things like 10 D10 from 30 is ludicrous…”
“Littler could’ve bought Keane Barry some dinner first f***ing hell,” another added.
Littler was making his debut at the Mr Vegas Grand Slam of Darts as he continues to build up his season to the Paddy Power PDC World Championship next month.
The 17-year-old shot to fame last winter when he produced a miracle run to the final – where he was stopped by Luke Humphries. Littler will be hoping to go one better this time out.
