Donald Trump chief Susie Wiles is a ‘killer’ however will battle to maintain ‘clown automotive’ away

Donald Trump’s pick for chief of staff is a “stone cold killer” – but will struggle to keep the “clown car” out of the Oval Office, the Sunday Mirror has been told.

Susie Wiles will become the first female White House chief of staff when Donald Trump takes office in January.

But the role has been described as a poisoned chalice – with Mr Trump burning through four chiefs of staff in his first term.

Meanwhile it’s been suggested one of Trump’s first acts after winning the election could be to visit people imprisoned for taking part in the January 6th attempted coup – a move that would cause widespread fury.

A source said people have been pushing the idea with Mr Trump for months, and it could even happen before he takes office.

Ms Wiles is a long-time Republican operator, who has worked on all three of Mr Trump’s campaigns, serving as co-chair of his 2024 run for the White House.

But a source who has previously worked with Ms Wiles told this newspaper she has a “short fuse”, is “very regimented and cliquey” and is “not easy to talk to.”

She reportedly demanded full control over access to the President as a condition of taking the role – seeking to keep the “clown car” of people trying to influence him out of the Oval Office.

“The clown car can’t come into the White House at will,” a source told CNN this week.

“And [Trump] agrees with her.”

The appointment caused some anxiety among MAGA operators – with some in his orbit fearing they would be shut out of his second administration.

But others suspect she’ll struggle to keep tabs on who is bending the President’s ear.

“Good luck with that,” said one source close to Trump-world.

“If Trump wants to talk to someone he’ll talk to them. She didn’t manage to keep them out during the campaign.”

As well as control over access to the President, Wiles demanded to be able to pick her deputy, and control over the President’s Personnel Office – who vet candidates for jobs in the West Wing.
