Farmers are dubbed Britain’s most flatulent folks as they let rip in fields
Farmers are the most flatulent people in the country, a poll found.
They let rip a shocking 14 times a day while out in the fields, mucking out or driving tractors. Researchers found farmers like Jeremy Clarkson who runs his Diddly Squat Farm in the Cotswolds never hold back because they are outdoors and can’t be heard.
They fart almost three times more than the average office-bound data analyst who let off just three times a day on average making them the least flatulent workers in Britain.
Builders are the second most likely to let off and pass wind eleven times a day followed by delivery drivers on ten farts a day and bus drivers on nine.
The bingo site Free Bets asked 2,000 UK adults how frequently they pass wind and what they do for a living to come up with the findings.
Spokesman Tim Agnew said: “Our research shows that people who work in the great outdoors like farmers are free to let rip at will and our figures show they don’t hold back.
“Builders and delivery drivers come close but our figures clearly indicate indoor and office workers are holding back because they don’t want to offend colleagues.”
School teachers are the fifth most likely to let off at work on eight farts a day followed by accounts and sales assistants in joint sixth place on seven.
Engineers came seventh on six farts followed by IT managers in eighth place on four farts a day and data analysts in ninth place on just three.
