Kate Middleton beams as she attends first royal occasion after ending chemotherapy

Kate Middleton has attended her first royal event since she finished chemotherapy, stepping out alongside Prince William at tonight’s Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall.

The Princess of Wales, 42, looked happy as she exited a vehicle and made her way up to the venue’s main entrance, while her husband placed his hand on her back. The couple were followed by King Charles, with other attendees including Sir Keir Starmer and his wife Victoria.

However, Queen Camilla was notably absent from the evening’s remembrance activities, having withdrawn due to her ongoing recovery from a chest infection. The Palace expressed “great disappointment” but noted that medical advice was to rest for a full recovery and to prevent any potential risk to others.

Her Majesty is currently recuperating at Ray Mill House, her private residence in Wiltshire, and is anticipated to be fit enough to return to London early next week for various commitments. A Booker Prize reception at Clarence House on Tuesday is scheduled to be her first engagement.

The annual Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance honours all those who have served and sacrificed their lives for their country.

The King, who earlier this year took on the role of Patron of the Royal British Legion, was also accompanied by the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Anne and her spouse Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and the Duke of Kent.

Kate’s presence at the Festival of Remembrance was uncertain due to her limited public engagements after abdominal surgery and a cancer diagnosis earlier this year.

However, following the end of her chemotherapy, the princess has gradually resumed Royal responsibilities. Last month, she made her first community visit of the year with William in Southport, meeting families affected by the tragic knife attack in July.

She also enjoyed a private showing of ‘Giselle’ at the National Ballet and spent time with a young photographer fighting cancer at Windsor Castle. Tonight, Kate makes her fourth public outing of the year, having previously been seen at Trooping the Colour, Wimbledon, and another event in Southport.

Tomorrow, she will join the King, Prince William, and other high-ranking royals at the Cenotaph for Remembrance Sunday.
