The main house has four spacious bedrooms. Brimming with charm and practicality, it was developed seven years ago, having been converted from a bungalow.

Key character features, including original timber floors, a garden well and a full-size cellar, remain intact. One 95-year-old lady who used to live at the property used to collect water from the well every day.

For privacy lovers, there are no neighbours in sight.

The glass orangery space has been turned into a living space with exquisite views of the New Forest.

Plus, there’s a sauna, swimming pool and poolside double ‘waterfall’ shower room for those with luxury living in mind.

The property also comes with a three-bedroom, two reception room annex, an agricultural barn, log cabin, stables and paddocks, all served by two separate gated entrances.

Charlotte, who moved to the property in 2022, told This is Money: ‘The first day we came here  I had a shower with the doors wide open onto the balcony and watched the deer play in the grounds below. I felt like a Disney princess.’

Since moving in, Charlotte’s been running her film studios, Branded Studios, from the property, which is being marketed via SK Property Group and available to view on Rightmove.

She said: ‘This property has been incredible, serving as our main family home alongside a home studio, recording studio, edit suites, home office and so much more. It’s really versatile, with huge income potential, or perfect for multi-generational living.

‘I know my teenage son has certainly enjoyed his very own music room and sleepover pad, where he can make as much noise as he likes without disturbing anyone.’

Looking ahead, Charlotte thinks she will stay in or near the New Forest until her teenage son flies the nest.

She said: ‘It has certainly been a year for change. Hitting the big 4-0 has definitely made me evaluate things, and sadly the dream home I thought would be mine forever is one of the things I cannot take with me into this next chapter. I’m still excited.’

How to find a new mortgage

Borrowers who need a mortgage because their current fixed rate deal is ending, or they are buying a home, should explore their options as soon as possible.

What if I need to remortgage?

Borrowers should compare rates, speak to a mortgage broker and be prepared to act.

Homeowners can lock in to a new deal six to nine months in advance, often with no obligation to take it.

Most mortgage deals allow fees to be added to the loan and only be charged when it is taken out. This means borrowers can secure a rate without paying expensive arrangement fees.

Keep in mind that by doing this and not clearing the fee on completion, interest will be paid on the fee amount over the entire term of the loan, so this may not be the best option for everyone.

What if I am buying a home?

Those with home purchases agreed should also aim to secure rates as soon as possible, so they know exactly what their monthly payments will be.

Buyers should avoid overstretching and be aware that house prices may fall, as higher mortgage rates limit people’s borrowing ability and buying power.

How to compare mortgage costs

The best way to compare mortgage costs and find the right deal for you is to speak to a broker.
